Dr. Xiaohong Chen has been engaged in the field of urban transport strategy, system planning and policy studies for more than 30 years. She was the main planner of the transportation system for Shanghai World Expo 2010 and made outstanding contributions for the system operation. Now she is the key advisory expert of Shanghai master plan for 2040. She has been actively involved in many professional societies and activities and worked as an advisor of urban long-tern plan for WuHan, ChongQing, ChangSha, and ShenZhen. She has completed 2 projects of National Natural Science Foundation, 1 Key Program of National Social Science Foundation, 1 project of the National High Technology Research and Development Program, and so on. In recognition of her outstanding career achievements and professional influence, she was awarded the honorary title of “National Woman Pace-setter”, and elected as the Deputies to 14th Shanghai people's Congress (2012-2017).

Dr. C. Michael Walton is Professor of Civil Engineering and holds the Ernest H. Cockrell Centennial Chair in Engineering at The University of Texas Austin. Dr. Walton researches intelligent transportation systems and intermodal freight logistics in addition to transportation systems engineering, planning, operations and policy analysis. Dr. Walton was elected a member of the National Academy of Engineering in 1993. In other professional society affairs he is a past Chair of the Board of the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), past President of the Board of Governors of the Transportation and Development Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), a founding member and past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) of America and a past Chair of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Executive Committee. He has contributed to more than 500 publications in the areas of ITS, freight transport, and transportation engineering, planning, policy and economics, and he has delivered several hundred technical presentations.

Prof. Hai Yang is currently a Chair Professor at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is internationally known as an active scholar in the field of transportation, with more than 220 papers published in SCI/SSCI indexed journals and an H-index citation rate of 45. Most of his publications appeared in leading international journals, such as Transportation Research and Transportation Science. Prof. Yang received a number of national and international awards, including National Natural Science Award bestowed by the State Council of PR China. He was appointed as Chang Jiang Chair Professor of the Ministry of Education of PR China. Prof. Yang is now the Editor-in-Chief of Transportation Research Part B: Methodological, a top journal in the field of transportation.

Markos Papageorgiou received the Diplom-Ingenieur and Doktor-Ingenieur degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany. From 1988 to 1994 he was a Professor at the Technical University of Munich. Since 1994 he has been a Professor at the Technical University of Crete, Greece. He was a Visiting Professor at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy; Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, France; MIT, U.S.A.; University of California at Berkeley, U.S.A.; and other universities. He was the Editor-in-Chief of Transportation Research – Part C (2005-2012). . He is a Fellow of IEEE and a Fellow of IFAC. He received several distinctions and awards for his achievements. He was awarded an ERC Advanced Investigator Grant (2013-2018).
